These terms cover your use of Shebang, the macOS app, and this website (together, “Shebang”). Shebang is provided by kinoAI (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using Shebang you agree to these terms.

Your account

You sign in with Google or GitHub. Keep that account secure: you are responsible for what happens under it. You must be at least 16 years old and give accurate information. One account is for one person.

Subscriptions and payment

Shebang is sold as a subscription, monthly or yearly, at the prices on our pricing page. Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.
  • You can cancel at any time from your account page or the link in your receipt. You keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
  • If a renewal can’t be collected, access ends after a short grace period.
  • We may change prices for future periods. We will tell you before a change applies to you, and you can cancel before it does.

Your license to use Shebang

While your subscription is active we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to install and use Shebang on Macs you own or control, on one Mac at a time. An account is for one person and may not be shared. You may not resell, sublicense or redistribute Shebang, reverse engineer it except where the law allows, or use it to break the law or anyone else’s rights.

AI agents and third-party services

Shebang runs AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex and Gemini CLI on your Mac using your own accounts with those providers. Those services are governed by their own terms and billed by them, not by us. Agents can change files and run commands in the folders you give them: review their work, and keep backups and version control.

Your data

Shebang stores your work on your Mac and does not upload code, prompts or files to our servers. Agents you run may send inputs to their providers under your accounts. Our privacy policy explains what we collect.

Availability and changes

We work to keep Shebang running and improving, but we may change or discontinue features. If we stop offering Shebang, we will refund the unused part of any yearly subscription.

Ending your account

You can stop using Shebang and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms; where it is fair to do so we will warn you first.

Warranty and liability

Shebang is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before it. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by contract.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect.
